About Badger Kennel Club
Badger Kennel Club (BKC) is an all volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to dogs, and helping dogs and their owners develop a positive and rewarding relationship. BKC holds classes that use positive dog training techniques and sponsors educational events for people interested in dogs. The Badger Kennel Club has more than 135 members who own over 65 different breeds of dogs. The majority of Club members live in Madison and surrounding areas.
Our volunteer instructors are dedicated to dogs, and many have decades of experience working with and training dogs to be companions, good canine citizens, and successful participants in American Kennel Club (AKC) events.
BKC's Objectives
- To provide educational opportunities of interest to people who like dogs;
- To encourage the training of all dogs for competition and good canine citizenship;
- To foster and maintain friendship among the membership and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials;
- To further the advancement of all breeds of purebred dogs;
- To encourage and support dog shows and obedience trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club; and finally,
- To advance the best interests of the dog and the dog fancier in all matters.
Meetings
Badger Kennel Club Board meetings are held every 2nd Thursday of the month.
General business meetings are held at the Badger Kennel Club Training Center (map below) on the 3rd Thursday of each month. Guests are welcome. The business meeting (closed to guests in June and January) is held at 7:00 pm, followed by either a program of interest to dog fanciers or a social hour.
