Get control of your maturing and sometimes overpowering puppy! Topics include teaching your puppy the basic skills necessary to become a well-mannered puppy, how to establish who sets the rules (you), how to communicate with your puppy through voice, body language, and canine language cues. Class format consists of discussion, demonstration, practice of new skills, playtime with other people and pups, and games. This hands-on class will get you and your family engaged in the fun.

BKC is offering playtime to dogs under 1 years of age, see Rules and times. Those currently enrolled in BKC puppy classes may attend at no charge. For others the cost is $3 per session. Call or e-mail Lynda Nelson for schedule and registration. NO DROP INS ALLOWED, YOU MUST BE ON THE LIST TO ATTEND
Class information
Please contact Lynda if you need a class. When we get 5 students, we will schedule a class to start. Don't wait until a session is listed. The date and times of classes will vary depending on the applications received and personal schedules of our Instructors. "The Ultimate Puppy Toolkit" is included in the price of class ($19.95 value) and contains a useful set of training booklets. http://www.urbanpuppy.com/toolkit/index.html
BKC offers positive reinforcement training, and we ask that your puppy arrive with a plain buckle collar (no chain or choke collars, please). Our instructors have many years of experience, and are dedicated to promoting the best possible experience for you and your puppy. Although families are strongly encouraged to participate, we request that the primary handler of the puppy be a parent or person over the age of 11 years.
All BKC puppy classes are 7 weeks in length. Puppy classes fill rapidly, please apply as soon as possible. We will limit registration at 10 per puppy class, so please also indicate a second choice day on your application form. BKC reserves the option to cancel, combine or split classes to provide the optimum learning group of 5-10 puppies & handlers. If your first choice class is filled or does not have enough enrolled, we will call so you may select another time that particular class may be available.
Owners of puppies 6 months or older please refer to the information about obedience
classes or Canine Good Citizen Classes.
